Hello you lovely book nerds. July is almost over so I better kick this post out the door before it’s too late.
I don’t know where this tag originated, so let me know if you do.
Firstly some personal stuff. Proceeding, some of reviews might not have an illustration included. I would like to draw something for every book, but it isn’t realistic anymore. I read much faster than I can draw and reviews are piling up. Also not every book has a clear image for me and forcing my brain to come up with something is just frustrating. And lastly, I have been doing some commissions and they have been time consuming. No point in letting the blog or my hand suffer needlessly. I’ll do my best going forward, but I needed to get this off my chest.
1.BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2018
2. BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2018
3. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR
4. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT
A Passage to India. It was dull and petty.
5. BIGGEST SURPRISE
To Kill a Kingdom. I only bloody loved it.
6. FAVOURITE NEW AUTHOR
The Lunar Chronicles was a revelation. They were witty and brilliant. I’ll be diving into her other series soon.
7. NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH
Carswell Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles. A charming rogue that pretends he’s suave and dangerous instead of the dork he really is.
8. NEWEST FAVOURITE CHARACTER
9. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY
They Both Die at the End had me crying buckets. Its review is on that pile and will hopefully be posted soon.
Clockwork Princess did not leave my cheeks dry either, but not as much as TBDATE. (That a really bad abbreviation.)
10. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY
The Pinhoe Egg and the rest of the Chrestomanci series was just lovely.
Stories from the Witch Store is also making this list.
11. FAVOURITE BOOK TO FILM ADAPTATION
Ready Player One was awesome.
I finally saw The Dark Tower. I mentioned before that I did not get anywhere with the books. The movie was fun, but not good. Bonus entertainment spotting all the South African actors and landscapes.
12. FAVOURITE POST YOU’VE DONE THIS YEAR
I did two unboxing’s featuring my art that I’m really proud of. Besides that, any post I get out on time is a small victory.
13. MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU’VE BOUGHT THIS YEAR
The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo. Not only is this book physical gorgeous, but the stories are lovely too.
14. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET BUT WANT TO
I still need to read The Fates Divide.
15 WHAT BOOK DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR?
