New year, new blog, new book tags/memes. This is officially my first one of these and fittingly this weeks topic is Reading Resolutions.
1. My first Goodreads challenge.
This year is the first time I will be taking part in the Goodreads challenge. I am always very late to join social media. The challenge is set to fifty books. Not a massive number, but this year is full of changes for me and I’m unsure how much time there will be to read. I am really excited about doing this.
2. Reduce TBR list.
There is a physical pile of eleven unread books next to my bed and as least fifty audio books in a “to be read” folder.
3. Variation in genres.
I mostly read fantasy in 2017. Both YA and adult and a little bit of middle grade. This year I would like to sprinkle in some genres I neglected. I am still going to read a lot of fantasy, but also horror, modern mystery, romance and a dash of nonfiction.
4. Exploring Cosmere
I’ve read the current six Mistborn books and the first two Stormlight Archive novels. That leaves quite a lot to still explore in the Cosmere. First up will be the Oathbringer (#3 Stormlight) and afterwards Elantris. I’ve got a lot of reading ahead.
5. Throne of glass
2016 was the year in which I discovered awesome modern-day female fantasy authors. After enjoying the ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ trilogy, I would like to sample Sarah J Mass’ ‘Throne of Glass’. It’s not a small series, so if I like the first book, it’s another long term commitment.
